Away Day - Maharashtra Derby diaries

The boys wearing the Mumbai blue started to gather in numbers across various spots in the city and this was a clear indication that the off-pitch battle had begun.

With numbers hovering under the 100 mark in the previous 4 seasons, the West Coast Brigade army managed to touch the 3-digit mark for this trip. Over 130+ members boarded 4 buses from Mumbai and began their journey towards Balewadi stadium in Pune.

When it comes to being the #PrideOfMaharashtra, the Mumbai City FC fans sent a clear message the moment we entered the stadium by outnumbering the home fans with our chants at the Balewadi stadium.

It was a first time away experience for a lot of us and everyone made sure that there was no stone unturned to cheer for the Islanders in an atmosphere that was all about the pride.

Unfortunately, the result didn’t go in our favour but you could see how well Apun ka Team performed with every single player giving their all on the field. The West Coast Brigade didn’t stop chanting for our boys and it even continued outside the stadium post the game.

It was clear. West Coast Brigade had already begun their preparations for the upcoming semifinals vs FC Goa.

With the likes of Modou Sougou, Souvik Chakrabarti and a few others being rested, the team and the fans were in sync, preparing for the big game vs FC Goa at Mumbai Football Arena.

And why not! After knowing about the venue for ISL 5 final, the talk of the town for West Coast Brigade is all about reaching the final and earning the bragging rights. In a season where the Islanders have put up some amazing performances, winning the trophy would be the perfect gift for all Mumbaikars.

With the home leg hardly a few days away, the West Coast Brigade have been on their toes and are coming up with something unique for the special occasion come Saturday.

With a strong belief of packing the fortress in the home leg on 9th March, the Mumbai City FC faithful - West Coast Brigade members are already off to plan a happening away travel to Goa on 12th March for the away leg.
