It was a game to forget for Mumbai City earlier in the week at the Bambolim as the Islanders succumbed to a 4-2 loss against Bengaluru FC. On a night that began with a goal for Naushad Moosa’s side in 24 seconds, ended with the Islanders’ heaviest loss – a third of the campaign.

Jamshedpur FC, who are mathematically alive and kicking in the race for a spot in the semi-finals, coming off the back of a late 1-0 loss against ATK Mohun Bagan. Having played a game more than the Islanders, Owen Coyle’s side will come in all guns blazing having to win both their remaining fixtures to have any chances of progressing into the final stages of the campaign.

The permutations and combinations go out the window. If the Islanders are to remain in the hunt for the AFC Champions League spot, the equation for Sergio Lobera and Mumbai City is as simple as it can be – win.

Team News

Hugo Boumous is ruled out of the fixture, serving his suspension.

Who Said What

Sergio Lobera: We will be up against a very good team, a very strong team defensively and it will be difficult to find spaces in Jamshedpur FC’s half.

Vignesh Dakshinamurthy: We’ve worked very hard to be where we are right now and we won’t let go of it easily. We have three games to go to achieve what we want. We will fight for it.
