Mumbai City are thrilled to confirm the arrival of Leandro Otormín. The 30-year-old Uruguayan attacker joins the Islanders after signing a one-year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Born in Paso de los Toros, Otormín is a youth academy graduate of Nacional, one of Uruguay’s most successful clubs. He is also a former Uruguay youth international and was part of the squad for the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Otormín scored four goals in five matches at the tournament, including braces against New Zealand and Slovakia, and finished the World Cup as Uruguay’s joint-top scorer.

He has also represented Montevideo City Torque, Cerro Largo, Liverpool Fútbol Club, and Montevideo Wanderers. Across Uruguay’s top flight, he has made 132 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 21 assists.

Otormín, who can play as a second striker, on either wing or through the middle, is a versatile creative attacker who further strengthens the Islanders’ attacking options across the front four positions.

Leandro Otormín, Attacker of Mumbai City, said:

“I have heard a lot of good things about Mumbai City, and I see this as a great opportunity to challenge myself in a new environment. I am ready to work hard, adapt quickly, and give my best for the team. Whenever I step onto the pitch, I want to give everything I have and make sure I contribute in every way I can.”

Manolo Márquez, Head Coach of Mumbai City, said:

“He is an exciting attacking player with excellent technical ability and creativity. He can play in different positions and has the vision to create opportunities and the quality to influence games. We believe his qualities will be very important for us this season.”
