Mumbai City are delighted to announce the signing of Sergio Llamas. The 33-year-old midfielder joins the Islanders on a one-year contract until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava, Llamas began his footballing journey with Deportivo Alavés, representing both Alavés B and the senior team. He spent six years with the club and was part of the side that won the Segunda División in the 2015/16 season, securing promotion to La Liga.
Llamas later went on to ply his trade in Finland, Bolivia and Italy. In the 2024/25 season, he joined Gokulam Kerala in the I-League, where he enjoyed a standout campaign as the Malabarians finished fourth. He later joined Inter Kashi for the 2026 edition of the Indian Super League, where he also scored his first goal for the club against NorthEast United FC.
His arrival further strengthens the Islanders’ midfield, with the club confident that his experience and qualities can help bring out the best in those around him.
