After a winless run of three games, Sergio Lobera’s side fought back in the only way they know how to – scoring plenty of goals. The Islanders went a goal down early but fought back spectacularly to dismantle a hapless Odisha FC 6-1. Cy Goddard found himself among the goals for the first time, scoring his first career senior goal along with Bart Ogbeche who scored two thumping headers. The headlines, however, were stolen by Bipin Singh who scored a fantastic hat-trick, becoming the first to score one in this season of the ISL.

Table toppers ATK Mohun Bagan saw their five game winning run snapped by a resilient Hyderabad FC after the Mariners snatched a late goal to draw the game 2-2 with Manvir Singh and Pritam Kotal finding the back of the net. Antonio Habas’ side sit three points adrift from the Islanders on the table and will need to avoid defeat against Sergio Lobera’s side if they are to secure top spot in the league.

The message and the intention is clear – win. And should the Islanders secure their desired result, on the other side lies glory and a piece of history.
