“Mountains are there to be climbed”.

Football has seen it’s fair share of miracles but tomorrow, the Islanders are faced with a task no lesser than conquering Mount Everest. Mumbai City FC are on the road for the second leg of the Hero ISL semifinal as they make the trip to Goa with a mammoth 5-1 deficit to overturn at the Fatorda.

Just about 48 hours ago, the Arena witnessed the Islanders collapse against the Gaurs. A fine goal from Rafael Bastos put the home side ahead but could not capitalise on the lead, leaving FC Goa to pump five away goals.

Jorge Costa may have admitted that a place in next Sunday’s Hero ISL Final is well out of reach for the Islanders and for good reason but as they say, it’s never over until it’s over.

The task for Mumbai City FC is straightforward – win by a margin of five goals at the Fatorda and book a place in the Hero ISL Final. It certainly seems like a near-impossible task but if there is one sport that can churn out fairytales, it’s football.

Barcelona. Manchester. Mumbai?
