Mumbai City FC is delighted to announce the signing of Nasser El Khayati. The 34-year-old attacking midfielder joins the Islanders until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, El Khayati came through the youth set up Feyenoord and PSV before begining his professional journey with FC Den Bosch. The attacking midfielder of Moroccan descent turned out for Dutch clubs NAC Breda and Kozakken Boys and Cypriot club Olympiakos Nicosia before making the move to England in 2015, representing Burton Albion and Queens Park Rangers.

After a stint in England, El Khayati returned to the Netherlands and enjoyed two positive stints at ADO Den Haag on either side of a short stint at Qatar SC. A short period at Dutch club Willem II followed before the Dutchman made the move to India, joining Chennaiyin FC ahead of the 2022-23 season. El Khayati impressed in his maiden season in India with his skillful displays, notching up 9 goals and 5 assists in just 12 appearances.

El Khayati returns to India, joining the Islanders ahead of a competitive 2023-24 season and will wear the number 23 shirt.
