To call it a purple patch would be an understatement. The statistics make up for good reading. The headlines are singing praises. It’s almost poetic that just a couple of days after setting a new club record unbeaten run, the Islanders are now tasked with breaking another.

In what will be a true litmus test for Jorge Costa and Mumbai City FC, the boys make the trip to face the unbeaten league leaders Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium tomorrow at 7.30pm.

For the second season running – and their second in the Hero ISL – the Blues have shown rampant form and are yet to lose a single game in this season. Despite Albert Roca’s departure, BFC are a side that haven’t changed much in principle, with the Spaniard’s former number 2 Carles Cuadrat now at the helm.

BFC’s unbeaten record was under some serious threat only for Bhutanese striker Chencho Gyeltshen to save them the blushes with an overhead kick to cancel out Gallego’s goal in Guwahati.

In what will be the third game in only 7 days for the Islanders after the 2-0 win over Chennaiyin FC at the Arena, the boss Jorge Costa admits that his side could face the brunt of the fixture list, but would rather play without much of a break.

A proper ‘top of the table’ clash awaits us and for the purists, it doesn’t get better than this.

Where to watch it:

The game will kick off at 7.30pm IST and will be broadcast on the Star Sports Network, Hotstar and Jio TV for all viewers in India. For our global fans, you can find your broadcaster HERE. You can also follow live action on our official Twitter account - @MumbaiCityFC

Team News:

Miku remains to be on the treatment table for Carles Cuadrat’s Bengaluru FC.

Who said what:

Jorge Costa: I haven't found too many weaknesses in BFC. Individually, they have good players, both Indians and their foreigners.

Subhasish Bose: It will be special for me of course, returning to the Kanteerava. I hope we can pick up the three points tomorrow and make it special for all of Mumbai.

Souvik Chakrabarti: We’re relishing the challenge. It won’t be an easy game by any means but we will go into the game with our plans in place.
