The Mumbai City FC juggernaut is picking up pace and have qualified for the playoffs of the ISL, in its 10th season. Up next on the agenda is a trip to Jamshedpur and the land of the iconic Tata Football Academy. But there’s a little more history involved here, the last time Mumbai City FC lost a game this season, it was at the Mumbai Football Arena, against Khalid Jamil’s Jamshedpur FC.

Speaking ahead of the game, head coach Petr Kratky said, “The message is clear always, we stick to the way we want to play and we work hard, don’t stop until the end. I believe in the way we play, so just keep working hard.”

Mumbai City FC have won 4 out of their last 5 games, and with a positive result go top of the table, by overtaking Odisha FC. And one of the many bright spots for the Islanders has been Bipin Singh.

“Firstly, I can’t thank the medical team enough for helping me get through the injury recently, and it felt good to be able to contribute on the pitch and perform for the team after getting back to full fitness,” Bipin said on the eve of the game.

Talking about the opposition, who are seventh on the points table, the coach made it clear, that they are aware of the task on hand.

“Jamshedpur FC are a good team and they are improving continuously through the season, so that shows they have quality, and we have to aware of that. We lost the last time we played them, so we want to come here and fight for a win, so I think it will be a very good contest and we have to be ready for it, and I think the team is rested and looking forward to the game,” Kratky said.

The Indian football season is nearing the home stretch, and for Kratky, there will be no taking the foot of the accelerator.

“It’s always important that we play well and fight and work hard in every game. Each match is very important now, you can see the results in the league, and that makes every game like a final. As I said many times, we have to go game by game, so now, we just have to make sure that we are ready for the game against Jamshedpur FC. Then after that we get ready for the next one, but our first priority is the next game. We are still a little distance from the end of the season, so we have to work to be the best version of ourselves every day,” he said.
