Mumbai City FC are set to take on Jamshedpur FC in their third game of the 2022-23 Indian Super League (ISL) season. The Islanders came away with a solid 2-0 win over Odisha FC last Saturday in what was the first game at the Mumbai Football Arena in over two years. The Islanders will welcome Jamshedpur FC to the Arena on the 22nd of October in what will be the first early kick-off of the season,

The Islanders have had an impressive start to the 2022-23 ISL having already scored 5 goals in 2 games. Des Buckingham's side came from behind twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw in the season opener against Hyderabad FC before dispatching Odisha FC 2-0, keeping the first clean sheet of the season.

Jamshedpur FC, under new management, have only played one game so far in the 2022-23 league season, losing 3-2 to Odisha FC in dramatic fashion at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

The Islanders' head coach Des Buckingham addressed the media ahead of tomorrow's game and highlighted his side's approach saying, “We'll go out from the start to try and win the game. We feel we want to continue to push to get another goal to consolidate the result. It's about making sure that we start the game as well as we can and then we manage the game throughout to make sure we come away with the result that we all want.“

When asked about the composition of the squad, Buckingham said, “The changes that we're able to make now from the bench can come on and have a very good impact. We've been able to retain the core group of players we had last year. Then we have added the quality that we have with the recruitment to allow us to have different approaches and I think we've shown that in the last two games.”

Coach Buckingham signed off by saying, “Our attention and a lot of our focus is on us and how we prepare for how we want to play. We want to prepare for what we do out when we are not in possession. I think that's the stuff we have control of. A lot of the focus and attention is making sure that we're as prepared as we can to gain control.”
